Inks Lake State Park
Inks lake State Park is just a short drive from Marble Falls. This State Park offers a plethora of outdoor activities- fishing, kayaking, hiking, and more.
There are miles upon miles of hiking trails, with a wide variety of shaded, sunny, easy, and more rigorous routes. There’s rocky hills, shady forests, and lake views everywhere you look!
Our favorites are the Devil’s Backbone and the Woodland Trail. Speak to the Rangers and Interpreter for more information on trails and Inks history!
Whether it’s a sunrise hike or a golden-hour adventure, Inks Lake always delivers.

Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center
Located about 28 miles from Marble Falls between Cypress Mill and Bee Cave, it’s a peaceful escape into protected land.
Reserve a guided hike at Westcave Discovery Center. These hikes are both intimate and immersive. The Uplands Trail winds through Live Oak and Ashe Juniper savanna before ending at a stunning grotto tucked into the canyon.
Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center also has guided night hikes and star parties for the night owls. They also offer guided photography hiked and bird watching hikes— they truly have something for everyone!

Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge
About 25 minutes outside Marble Falls, the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge offers more than five miles of foot trails open year-round from sunrise to sunset.
For families, the Pond and Prairie Trail is a half-mile, kid-friendly walk-through prairie and woodland forest. The Creek Trail provides shaded serenity along a clear creek, while the Indiangrass Trail offers a peaceful mile-and-a-half journey through prairie and forest landscapes.
For those ready for something a bit more rigorous, the Rimrock Trail is the refuge’s most strenuous route — a 2.2-mile climb to the top of a plateau with spectacular panoramic views of the Texas Hill Country. It’s challenging but absolutely worth it.

Enchanted Rock State Park
Arguably the most popular State Park in Texas, Enchanted Rock is a must-see natural wonder just over an hour from Marble Falls. The massive pink granite dome and unique rock formations create an unforgettable backdrop for hiking!
Here, you can hike, backpack, rock climb, stargaze, and more. Enchanted Rock State Park has nearly 11 miles of hiking trails, so you can definitely find a trail that you love. The Summit trail is definitely a fan favorite, but pretty challenging. For less incline, the Loop Trail and Scenic Trail offer beautiful alternatives.
It’s the kind of place that reminds you just how vast and beautiful the Hill Country really is.

Backbone Creek Hike & Bike Trail
For those who prefer to stay close to town, Backbone Creek Hike & Bike Trail offers an easy 1.3-mile route connecting Lakeside Park to Westside Park in Marble Falls. The 10-foot-wide path combines asphalt and granite gravel, making it accessible for walkers, joggers, and cyclists alike.
Along the way, you’ll pass Lakeside Park, Falls Creek Park and Skatepark, Andrea’s Pass Waterfall, Johnson Park, Madelyn’s Crossing, and Westside Park. Wildlife sightings are common — from ducks and turtles to foxes and deer — making every visit a little different from the last.

Pace Bend Park
About 40 minutes from Marble Falls, Pace Bend Park showcases the Hill Country at its finest. With cactus-lined trails, light brush, and sweeping views of Lake Travis, it offers a laid-back, rustic hiking experience. It’s accessible, scenic, and perfect for a leisurely trek with water views as your backdrop.

The Texas Hill Country is made for exploring, and Marble Falls is the perfect home base. Whether you’re chasing wildflowers, scenic overlooks, or a quiet moment under a canopy of oaks, there’s a trail here waiting for you.
