Spend the Holidays in Downtown Marble Falls

There is something undeniably wonderful about the Texas Hill Country during the holiday season. Articulating joy with the season of giving, Marble Falls is ready to celebrate. Whether it is live music while you stroll through the Walkway of Lights in the crisp winter weather or browsing through boutiques on Main Street in Downtown Marble Falls while sipping on hot chocolate, Christmas cheer inspires the calendar of events that create these holiday memories for a lifetime.

Downtown Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

Ushering in the holidays in the hill country, the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting will take place on November 20 at 5:30PM. This seasonal affair signals the official beginning of the holidays precluding the Walkway of Lights Light-up Parade. With spectacular performances for the whole family to enjoy and special refreshments compliments of the holiday sponsor. The stores in Downtown Marble falls will be open, allowing for the perfect opportunity to get a jumpstart on holiday shopping. After the tree lighting ceremony, the Walkway of Lights Light-Up Parade will immediately commence.

Walkway of Lights Light-Up Parade

The Walkway of Lights Light-up Parade kicks off the start of this annual lakeside Marble Falls tradition with festive floats leading the charge for the lighting ceremony of the Walkway of Lights. Santa will make his celebratory appearance alongside choreographed performances from marching participants. The parade will begin at the intersection of Broadway and Main, and conclude at the intersection of Yett and Main to allow for optimal social distancing standards.

30th Annual Walkway of Lights

Every year, the Walkway of Lights provides the quintessential hill country holiday experience with hot chocolate, a uniquely creative display of twinkle lights along Lake Marble Falls, and visits from Santa Claus to provide exceptional experiences for everyone in Lakeside Park. Loop through the path of holiday lights featuring traditional fixtures, local area flair, and contagious holiday spirit. Check the local listings for dates and times of special events including live music, college theme nights, and Hero’s Night. While the installation is free to enjoy, donations are greatly appreciated by local charities that staff the nightly event.

Downtown Holiday Ice Rink

An incredible opportunity to skate through the holidays on an ice-skating rink prominently featured alongside Lake Marble Falls begins on November 20. Presented by, the Winter Ice Skating Ring in Lakeside Park highlights the spirit of the season with theme nights and seasonal attractions. The soon-to-be annual holiday tradition promises to bring a smile to spectators and participants alike. The rink will be open until January 2, 2021.

Small Business Saturday

On November 28, immediately following the Black Friday madness, Small Business Saturday brings the perfect opportunity to support small businesses. Downtown Marble Falls is eagerly awaiting your patronage on this annual day of economic camaraderie, so join in on the holiday shopping festivities and shop small during this national day of support for businesses. That evening head over to the Walkway of Lights for a live musical performance by Nicolaus William Pharr from 6-10PM. 

Be sure to wear pink and support the cause as November 28 is also Pink Out for the Walkway of Lights.

In December, Christmas magic hits its stride, with theme nights at the Walkway of Lights, s’mores, and the optimal chance to take a picture with Santa. On Tuesday, December 1, furry friends get a green light to experience the Walkway of Lights for the official Pet Night.


Enjoy chocolate graham marshmallow goodness alongside a holiday movie classic during Movie and S’mores Night in the Park on Saturday, December 5 at Johnson Park. Mark the calendar and stay tuned for additional details.


Additionally, Sugar Mama Cookies is hosting an unforgettable cookie decorating activity on Friday, December 4 at 6:30PM. Bring the whole family to decorate Christmas cookies with Sugar Mama under the twinkling lights.


Capture a season tradition as Santa Claus stops by the Lakeside Pavillion on the morning of Saturday, December 5 for Breakfast with Santa from 9-11AM. The event includes breakfast, arts & crafts, and a perfect photo opportunity with the big man himself. A professional photographer will be there to take pictures with Santa in a safe, socially distanced manner. Spots are limited for this event, so grab a ticket and come have a morning full of holiday fun!

Christmas Market on Main

The Christmas Market on Main Street is on Saturday, December 5. Come out to Main Street Marble Falls to experience craft makers, bakers, and style creators from around the Texas Hill Country. This is the perfect place to get those unique holiday gifts that make a lasting impression. Browse over 50 vendors while exploring the boutiques, breweries, sugary treats, and delicious restaurants that Downtown Marble Falls offers within walking distance.

That evening, Downtown Marble Falls is hosting the first of three festive sip n’ shop evenings. On December 5th, 12th and 19th retailers will feature a selection of wine tastings to accompany your shopping escapades during extended hours.

To commemorate the start of the holiday vacation, Ms. Lollipop will present School’s Out, Santa’s In! Join the extravaganza on December 18 for fun-filled family activities to kick-off the official start of the holiday break.

While 2020 was certainly a year unlike any other, the holidays are sure to usher in “good tidings of great joy” throughout Marble Falls.
